2013 Color Of The Year: Emerald

Pantone has named emerald as the color of the year!
2012's color of the year has been Tangerine Tango, and in 2011 it was Honeysuckle.
I really love their decision, Emerald is such a gorgeous statement color.  I have barely any shades of green in my closet, I think I might have 1 shirt and that's it.  So I figured I'd find some ideas and options to add to your closet this upcoming year!

1. Coach - $348
2. Bows-R-Us - $2.78
3. Kyle Chan - $98
4. Vintage Princess Leather - $255
5. Michael Kors - $450
6. Mossimo - $25
7. Jade Jagger - $5,862
8. Marc by Marc Jacobs - $380
9. Lime Crime -Forest Green Poison Ivy

I am in love with this gorgeous coat by Coach, too bad I don't have the moola to purchase it, but I totally recommend adding it to your holiday wish-list!  I think the emerald hair bow is just adorable and it's super easy to add to any outfit, same goes with the Kyle Chan earrings.  I'm in love with both of these handbags, they're just lovely.  The Mossimo flats are from Target, so cute and inexpensive!!  Now sadly this Jade Jagger bracelet is worth more than my car, but it's still absolutely gorgeous.  So the holidays are upon us, so why not show your holiday spirit with this great sweater!  I am obsessed with sweaters at the moment!  I came across this lip color and I fell in love, I'm not even kidding.  I don't think I have the guts to pull off such a bold color, but I want it so badly.
1. Mango - $39
2. Jennifer Miller - $150
3. Marc by Marc Jacobs - $482
4. Jeffrey Campbell - $210
5. Tank Top: Buckle - $24
   Skirt: Red Label - $32

If you know me personally, than you know that I'm obsessed with peacock feathers (I had peacocks growing up).  So I of course had to choose this skirt by Red Label, which I paired with a black tank-top and a leather jacket.  I threw in some more emerald with these earrings, and added some more edge with these Jeffrey Campbell studded flats!  I finished the look with a lovely bright Marc by Marc Jacobs handbag, and that's the first look!
1. River Island - $72
2. Michael Kors - $450
3. Joanie's - $40
4. Brian Atwood - $325
5. Modcloth - $53

I think this Modcloth dress is so adorable and casual, but I wanted to dress it up a bit by adding a blazer and a pair of black heels.  I chose this really cute clutch by Michael Kors, I love how it is texturized!  Then I added this really cute bangle for a little bling, obviously this means you have to roll up the blazer's sleeves so you can see the bangle!

Will you be adding emerald to your closet?

Look-for-Less: Taylor Swift

It's no secret that I am completely obsessed with Miss Taylor Swifts new album Red!  My favorite track at the moment would have to be Stay Stay Stay, it's so catchy and up beat.  As I mentioned in my American Music Awards 2012: Best Dressed post, Taylor is one of my style icons and I love seeing candids of her when she's not all dolled up for events.

I have no idea when this photo was taken.
But the caption says it was in London in 2012, so let's go with that!

1. QLook - $7.99
2. Forever21 - $33
3. Ann Taylor - $48
4. QUBE - $30
5. New Look - $27
6. Jayna - $50

The statement piece of her outfit is the black and white polka-dot sweater, and I adore it!  I really want more statement sweaters, and this one is perfect.  I tried finding formal red pants, but the closest ones I found was this pair by New Look.  I couldn't find open toed bow shoes, but I love this pair by QUBE.  Obviously real pearl necklace would be expensive, and the point of this post is to show you how to achieve the same look for less, which is why I chose this Ann Taylor necklace.  The necklace is simple, but yet formal at the same time.  I wrapped up this look with this simple Jayna brown satchel bag.  The grand total for the entire outfit is: $195.99!

Who is your celebrity style icon?

Outfit Ideas: Thanksgiving

If you live in the United States, than you know that tomorrow is Thanksgiving!  I always look forward to the holidays because I get to spend some quality time with my family, and I love the food!  I figured I would throw together some cute outfits, for those people that leave it to the last second.

1. Chiarafashion - $40
2. Mango - $37
3. White House Black Market - $48
4. Modcloth - $20
5. BCBG - $38
6. Modcloth - $33
7. Essie : Blues - $8

This first look is more formal than the next, I know many families make Thanksgiving a formal occasion so I wanted to create a formal look.  I also wanted to keep the look fairly inexpensive, so everything I chose is under $50!  I really adore this gold sequined mini, I love how the skirt of the dress flows and is white!  I paired it with a tan blazer to make it more of a sophisticated formal and less of a homecoming dress feel (save money by using an old formal dress!).  These patterned tights bring more texture to the look, and since it's getting chilly out the tights may help warm you up more (plus, if you forget to shave your legs, no one will notice hahah).  I wanted to keep the gold in the look so I added a gold sequined clutch and the gold BCBG earrings.  For a pop of color I went with the royal blue flats sold at Modcloth, and the Essie nail varnish.  You could easily choose any color of shoes you wanted, and wear heels.

1. River Island - $32
2. Chicnova - $30
3. Fashion To Figure - $22
4. Indress Me - $44
5. Joy - $9.55
6. Windsor - $30
7. Essie : Oranges - $8

My family is rather big, and I have many younger cousins so we are always running around, which is why I chose the pants.  I wanted to keep it neutral so I chose tan, and paired them with the striped sweater.  I love the pattern on the white strips and how they're shear, it makes it feel more elegant without going over the top.  I again wanted to go with gold accessories, so I chose a thick gold chain, I love it!  Then I chose a nude bag, and simple earrings.  I wanted to have patterned shoes to add more to the overall look, so I chose these floral boots by Windsor, and for $30 they're a steal!  I decided on this Essie nail varnish in Oranges to incorporate more color into the outfit.

I hope you all have a happy Thanksgiving!

What are you thankful for?
I'm thankful for my family, they're some of the strongest people I know.

American Music Awards 2012: Best Dressed

So last night the American Music Awards were on, unfortunetly I forgot to record it, but I have been hunting through websites to catch what the celebs were wearing on the red carpet!

I am a major fan of Taylor Swift, plus I'm super jealous that she may or may not have a thing with Harry Styles right now!  I'm obsessed with her music, her charming music videos, and of course her style.  She's definitely my style icon for the girly side of me, and I don't think I've ever seen her in anything I haven't loved.

She wore a gorgeous Zuhair Murad dress last night, and I absolutely adore it!  It's a gold lace mini dress, with sequin and beading detailing on it, which really made it catch the light from the cameras.  It has sheer sleeves with a deep-v back and the bottom of the dress is scalloped.  Not only was I in love with her dress, but her hair looked amazing with her bangs and then the rest pulled back into the roll/bun thing (hahah, I'm so talented at describing things).  Her makeup was perfect for the look, since the dress is so neutral her bold smokey eye really helped her look alive and stand out.  She was my best dressed for the night for sure!

My next favorite would have to be Heidi Klum in Alexander Vauthier!

She looked stunning in this short gold lace mini, yes I'm aware that it's very similar to Taylor Swift's dress.  My favorite part of the dress is the neck, I love how the lace continues up the neck and covers the shoulders, it helps off-set the high slit and shortness of the dress.  I really love how Heidi chose to pair the daring dress with matching Christian Louboutin for Vauthier heels.  She also chose to hair her golden dress with a smokey eye and a bun!

You know what they say, great minds think a-like!  Taylor and Heidi totally pulled off their similar look, and I love it!

Some of my other favorite looks of the night were:

(left to right: A.J. McLean, Nick Carter, Brian Littrell, Howie Dorough, Kevin Richardson)
The Backstreet Boys!  Personally I think Nick Carter looked great in all black!  I'm not digging what Brian or A.J. wore, but I also want to point out how sharp Howie and Kevin look!  I also love how each of them wore something different, so they didn't blend in together.  Overall, good job boys!

(left to right: Carrie Underwood, Stacy Keibler, Shay Carl)
Carrie wore this breath-taking Abed Mahfouz gown, this was a close 3rd in my favorites of the night!  I love how it gives her curves without taking away from the gown, but I also love how she wore the dress and didn't let the dress wear her!
Stacy wore Colette Dinnigan, I love how the dress has so much detail but yet it's not overwhelming.  I'm also dying cause her legs are killer!
Now I totally freaked out when I saw Mr. Shay Carl!  If you don't know who he is, he makes youtube videos and I'm just obsessed.  I think he looked adorable, I love how he went with the dark pants and tie, but chose the grey blazer with a pop of color button up!

Who were your best dressed of the American Music Awards 2012?

Look-alike: Kourtney Kardashian's Outift

I have over 30 episodes of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, and another 20 episodes of Kourtney and Kim Take New York saved on my DVR, you could say that I'm a tad bit obsessed.. But you can't blame me, the family is full of head strong, powerful, and determined women.  Some may think they come off spoiled or bratty, but I personally love Khloe's sass, Kim's humor, and how Kourtney can be super mature one minute and hilarious the next.

If you pay attention to the ladies at all, than you know that they each have different styles with similar aspects.  Kourtney tends to cover up more than Kim or Khloe, which in my opinion is totally respectable since she is a mother of two.  I adore both Mason and Penelope, and I am all for Lord Disick.  I love the clips of when Kourtney and Scott are alone and goofy, they're so cute together.

So I decided to do a look-alike for Kourtney's outfit pictured below, now I imagine this candid is an older one (look at how little Mason is!)  But her outfit fits the fall season perfectly, and I think it's really timeless.
1. Tory Burch - $695
2. Theory - $220
3. Chatsworth - $45
4. Adriano Goldschmied - $159
5. Wall Is Fashion - $21
6. Steve Madden - $60

I really love the simplicity of this outfit, and how all of the pieces are timeless.  I first picked out the black jeans and  the white button up, which were extremely easy since practically every clothing company sells them.  I added the Chatsworth sunglasses, may I mention that I love the round frame shape?  Kourtney pulls them off so well!  I actually prefer the belt I chose instead of the one that Kourtney's wearing, I like the shape of the gold and the texture better compared to hers.  Then the Steve Madden black oxfords can be found anywhere from Target to JCPenny.  Than last but certainly not least, is the Tory Burch cheetah print handbag.  Kourtney's handbag is a bucket bag, but I couldn't find a cheetah print bucket bag so I chose this Tory Burch one.  I love how it's structured, so it doesn't look cheap like most cheetah print pieces.  It's something that you can pair with just about any outfit, and is a great statement handbag!  This is a great go-to fall outfit, and everyone should have at least one of these pieces in their closet to begin with.

Who is your style icon?

Now Trending: Peter Pan Collar

1. Blue Inc - $40
2. My Theresa - $596
3. Miso - $24

So this trend has been hot hot hot for a few months now, and I'm obsessed.  I think something as simple as a collar can add so much to an outfit, but it doesn't put it over the top.  The rounded shape of the peter pan collar adds a touch of more feminine, which is wonderful since leather is so popular this fall, and the best part is it's so easy to get your hands on!  I've seen peter pan collars in so many stores, such as American Eagle, JCPenny, Dillards, Urban Outfitters, Forever 21, and so many other stores.  This trend is very easy to incorporate into your wardrobe, and I don't see this going out of style anytime soon.

1. Superfine Friend - $1,375
2. Blue Inc - $40
3. Hot Topic - $12
4. Marc by Marc Jacobs - $626
5. Kenneth Cole - $24
6. Alexander McQueen - $295
7. Essie : Mezmerised - $8

I'm loving the leather trend this year, and how it brings masculinity to anything, so I paired it with a girly top that has a peter pan collar, it's a great mix of the two opposites.  I added the Hot Topic bracelet to add an edge, and the Marc by Marc Jacobs bag because it has a more neutral vibe and goes along well with the entire outfit.  I thought these Kenneth Cole earrings and the Alexander McQueen ring were both stunning! (Alexander McQueen is my favorite designer, may he rest in peace)  I adore the color and vibrancy of Mezmerised by Essie, it's just the perfect touch of color.  I just realized I forgot to add shoes to the look, but you could easily dress it up with a great pair of nude pumps or dress it down with a pair of flats.
Are you also in love with the peter pan collar?

Review: Revlon Lipstick "Black Cherry"

So since fall is finally here for Florida, can you believe it's 48 degrees out right now?!  I can wear dark lipsticks and not look like a total fool, so I went to Wal-mart and bought Revlon's Lipstick in Black Cherry, I'm seriously in love.  I have worn it almost everyday since, and I receive compliments every time I wear it.

I think these perfectly show the lipstick.  Now keep in mind that this lipstick is very build-able, so I have about 2 layers of the lipstick on.  It has a lot of pigmentation and the finish is creme, so it goes on beautifully.  Since it's a dark lipstick it gets into the creases of your lips easier, so make sure that you exfoliate your lips first!  I also recommend blotting your lips a bit, I think the lipstick looks best matte, but it's gorgeous either way!  Below I swatched the lipstick two different times to show you how build-able it is.  I recommend Revlon's Black Cherry Lipstick to everyone, it's worth every penny!

What's your favorite fall lip color?

Now Trending: Loafers

1. Mossimo - $25
2. Penelope - $183
3. Krisp Soft - $37
4. Cole Hann Sabrina - $198

I remember just about every Christmas growing up, one of my dads presents would be a pair of loafer slippers.  Who would have thought that they would become a trend in 2012, and I am madly in love with it!  It's a wonderful way to add masculinity to any look, and you can incorporate it in with so many different designs.  As you can see from above, I chose two different studded loafers, the Penelope ones have more of an edgy vibe since they're black and the gold studs are pointed, while the Krisp Soft loafers are a neutral color with rounded gold studs to make it more subtle.  I adore the older vibe of the Mossimo loafers, they remind me of a pair my lovely Grandmother would wear, but with a twist of color.  I am on the hunt for a pair that are similar to the Cole Hann Sabrina loafers though!  I think I saw a pair like them at Target but I'm not completely sure.  I am obsessed with the boldness of the color but yet the shoe is so simple and timeless.  This is one of my biggest fashion wants at the moment.

1. Dr. Denim - $72
2. Brooklyn Bis Delux - $200
3. OASAP - $14
4. Krisp Soft - $37
5. Maison Martin Margiela - $445
6.Valentino - $1,795
7. Essie "Pink-a-Boo" - $8

I wanted to incorporate the Krisp Soft loafers because they're a more feminine but edgy look and they're also inexpensive.  I fell in love with these vibrant bold pink Dr. Denim skinnys, and I threw in this skull t-shirt to add to the edgy vibe.  I wanted to bring some character into the look by adding the dream catcher necklace, and the Maison Martin Margiela bracelet.  This Valentino bag is to die for, so gorgeous and I love the hard-wear on it.  I finished the look by adding the "Pink-a-Boo" nail varnish to bring a girly twist back into the look.

Are you going to rock loafers?

Gimme: Perfume

First off, I wanted to apologize for being MIA this past week!
I'm trying to post every other day, but I've had a crazy past two weeks and I just haven't had the time.

A huge downside to being unemployed and broke is not having the money to buy a new perfume!  Every single perfume I own is empty, and body sprays don't last long enough!  But some here are three that are totally going on my Christmas List, hahah even though Christmas is three months away (I've tried all of these from either samples, past bottles I've owned, or I have a friend that has it)..  I'm in love with Daisy by Marc Jacobs, it's the perfect scent for spring and summer!  When you first spray it, it reminds me of freshly cut grass but sweeter, but the dry down is more musky but still light.  I think the bottle is adorable, it's youthful but not tacky.  Vera Wang's Princess perfume has been a favorite of mine ever since it was first released.  Unfortunately it doesn't last long, but I always receive compliments when I wear it.  It's a sweet and feminine scent, but it's also mature.  You can't really go wrong with this scent, it's absolutely gorgeous.  Lastly, Fame by Lady Gaga!  I love the bottle, and I'm so glad the topper comes off completely, the gold does.  I'm fascinated by the "black" liquid, but it doesn't dry dark and doesn't stain.  I would describe it as a strong apricot smell with some honey, the dry down to me is a ripe-apricot.  It lasts for a while on my skin, I don't know about others.  I love it!

What are your favorite perfumes?

1. Kaelen Paisley - $525
2. Diane Von Furstenburg - $646
3. Alexander Wang - $675
4. Missselfridge.com - $68

Leather leather leather!!!!  Both leather bottoms and tops are so popular right now, and I need them!  I am in love with this trend because it's so different and adds so much, but yet it's extremely subtle.  I am obsessed with the shorts by Kaelen Paisley because they're so detailed and cute, unfortunately they're EXPENSIVE.  A girl can dream though..  I also love the DVF, Alexander Wang, and Missselfridge bottoms because they're just enough to add an edge.

1. Diane Von Furstenberg - $646
2. Marni - $593
3. Dorthy Perkins - $14
4. Alexander McQueen - $2,340
5. Alexander McQueen - $295
6. Jeffrey Campbell Lita - $212
7. Butter London: Cheeky Chops - $14

Again, I love these DVF shorts, so I wanted to pair it with a more feminine top by Marni.  I adore this, it's a gorgeous color with the Peter Pan collar, aaaah I cannot get enough of it.  I wanted to keep it edgy by adding the ring and cuff, along with this breath taking Alexander McQueen clutch.  As I've mentioned before, I'm obsessed with Jeffrey Campbell Litas, and these were a perfect addition to the whole edgy vibe.  But I wanted to lighten it up a bit more with this muted yellow nail varnish by Butter London.  I need a fairy godmother to buy me this outfit, I'm in love.

How would you style a leather bottoms?

xoxo,
           Paige

Gimme: Jeffrey Campbell Litas

1-4.  All are Litas by Jeffrey Campbell

The first time I ever laid my eyes on a pair of Litas was in I believe grade seven, and it was on my Tumblr.  I first saw the solid black leather pair (1) and I've wanted a pair ever since.  They're beautiful and such a statement shoe, but yet they're not too much.  I've heard they're comfortable, but I wouldn't know for sure since I don't own a pair.  I love how you can find a pair in just about any color and style!!  There's such a great variety and each individual style is unique.  They start out at about $160, but you can find them on-sale for about $120 at Urban Outfitters every once in a while.  I plan on purchasing a pair as soon as I graduate, I'm thinking a present to myself hehe.

1. H&M - $49
2. YSL - $1,245
3. Top Shop - $28
4. Jeffrey Campbell Lita - $228
5. Windsor - $13
6. Marc Jacobs - $557
7. Essie: Blues - $8

I fell in love with these Litas instantly!  The detail of the white shoes are just stunning, so I wanted to keep the theme girly and paired it with a lovely H&M dress.  Then decided to add some edge by throwing in a chain necklace and the spiked and skull bangle set.  I adore this clutch by Marc Jacobs and I thought the color combination was perfect, so I chose the vibrant but subtle blue and decided nail varnish was another great way to tie blue into the look!

What do you think of Litas?

Now Trending: Funky Jeans

1. J Brand - $175
2. Rag & Bone - $261
3. Top Shop - $15
4. Current/Elliot Jeans - $185
5. J Brand - $220
6. Allyfashion.com - $25

If you've been paying any attention to fashion magazines, or tabloids then you know that colored and patterned jeans are huge right now. As you can tell, the top row are all colored jeans and the bottom row are floral patterned jeans. You're able to find both colored and floral jeans just about anywhere right now, and you can't get the for a decent price too. I love both colored and floral, I actually still own colored jeans that I purchased in grade seven when they started to make a comeback, hahah.  I adore the floral jeans, I think that they add such a feminine touch and they give you a lot to work with.  But the colored jeans just add so much color and excitement to any outfit, both are a must have this fall!

1. J Brand - $175
2. Wildfox Couture - $155
3. Top Shop - $18
4. Banana Republic - $220
5. LC Lauren Conrad - $11
6. Vaneli for Jildor - $175
7. Essie: Russian Roulette - $8

I chose to dress around the J Brand vibrant light blue jeans, so I chose a simple Jumper (staple).  I added the Banana Republic deep red handbag to add color to the look, and I also chose the Russian Roulette nail varnish my Essie.  I chose the bow earrings to keep it girly, and the vintage inspired ring to add character.  I ended with the cheetah print loafers (trend) to bring in some 'flava' to the outfit!

1. Allyfashion.com - $25
2. Miso - $41
3. Bottega Veneta - $38
4. Alexander Wang - $985
5. Charlotte Russe - $8.50
6. Jeffery Campbell: Red Wine Suede Litas - $205
7. Deborah Lippmann: Naked - $16

I am in love with these floral print jeans!  I decided to keep it toned down by pairing the jeans with a peter pan collared shirt (trend), I love the detail on the collar!  Then I chose a b-e-a-u-ti-ful Alexander Wang handbag, and a cute chunky chain bracelet (trend).  I wanted a simple nail varnish, so I went with Naked, and then threw in some cute cat eye sunglasses!  Last, but certainly not least, I chose the Jeffery Campbell Red Wine Suede Litas because not only are they gorgeous, but they add so much umph to the look without being too overbearing.

Do you plan on purchasing some funky jeans this fall?

To Live Will Be An Awfully Big Adventure

On Friday, September 14, 2012, my Aunt Sue passed away.  I've lost several important people in my life, and it never gets any easier.  Some of the fondest memories of my Aunt include watching Hook, the Peter Pan movie that has real actors, while playing with her Smurf figurines or Jenga.  She loved the story of Peter Pan, and the movie Hook because it wasn't so childish.  Even my brother Anthony, who is six years older than me shares these same memories of her.  I've decided that in honor of my Aunt, I want a tattoo.  I would love to get it soon, but that costs money that I don't have.  There's a quote in the movie Hook that Peter says, "to live will be an awfully big adventure."  I love that quote so much.  It reminds me of my Aunt because of her love for Hook, and she experienced so many things in her life.  I want it as a tattoo as a constant reminder of her, and that you should live life to the fullest because it is too short.

Although I have what I want done picked out, I still don't know where I want it done..  I adore collarbone tattoos, but I also love shoulder blade tattoos like these:

Pay no attention to the tattoo itself, just the placement.
I can't decide which I prefer, I'm leaning towards the collarbone though!
Now I have to decide on the script and what tattoo shop to go to!

Do you have any tattoos?
